Skilled – Sponsored (Residence) Visa (Subclass 886) This visa is for applicants who have completed the 2-year study requirement in Australia, have obtained 120 points on the GSM points test and who are sponsored by either an eligible family member or state or territory government. This visa grants the holder permanent residency in Australia with numerous benefits including access to Australia’s health care system, Medicare, and the ability to sponsor eligible relatives for migration to Australia. Sponsor Requirements To sponsor the applicant the relative must be at least 18 years of age and usually resident in Australia and be in one of the following categories: · An Australian Citizen · An Australian Permanent Resident · An Eligible New Zealand Citizen The applicant or the applicant’s partner must be related to the sponsor as one of the following: · A non-dependent child – including stepchild · A parent – including a step-parent · A brother or sister – including a step-sibling · A niece or nephew – including a step-niece or nephew · An aunt or uncle – including a step-aunt or uncle
This visa is for applicants who have completed the 2-year study requirement in Australia, have obtained 120 points on the GSM points test and who are sponsored by either an eligible family member or state or territory government. The visa is a 3 year provisional visa, with an option to extend for 1 year, that can lead the holder to the permanent visa Subclass 887 providing they meet the necessary requirements – see below.
Sponsor Requirements To sponsor the applicant the relative must be at least 18 years of age and usually resident in Australia and be in one of the following categories: · An Australian Citizen · An Australian Permanent Resident · An Eligible New Zealand Citizen The applicant or the applicant’s partner must be related to the sponsor as one of the following: · A non-dependent child – including stepchild · A parent – including a step-parent · A brother or sister – including a step-sibling · A niece or nephew – including a step-niece or nephew · An aunt or uncle – including a step-aunt or uncle · A niece or nephew – including a step-niece or nephew · A first cousin · A grandchild
Skilled – Regional (Residence) Visa (Subclass 887) This visa is for applicants who hold one of these visas: · Skilled – Independent Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 495) · Skilled – Designated Area – Sponsored (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 496) · Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 475) · Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 487) And who: · Have lived in a Specified Regional Area for at least two (2) years · Have worked full time in a Specified Regional Area for at least one (1) year · Have complied with the conditions on the visa This visa is the final step in the pathway from one of the abovementioned provisional visas to permanent residency. This visa grants the holder permanent residency in Australia with numerous benefits providing including access to Australia’s health care system Medicare and the ability to sponsor eligible relatives for migration to Australia.
